Amanda Cardenas, L.Ac, Dipl.Ac, M.Ac, CH
After double majoring in Psychology and Biology at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota. Amanda Cardenas life changed course after following her sailing passion and completing the SeaMester program through the State College of Florida--where she lived, worked and studied on a sailboat while crossing the Atlantic Ocean. She then moved to Savannah, GA to finish her degree in Marine Science.

Amanda Cardenas graduated from Savannah State University with honors (magna cum laude) with a Bachelors of Science in Marine Science. After working a variety of amazing (and not-so amazing) jobs, Amanda decided it was time to pursue her other passion of healthcare and alternative medicine. Amanda went on to receive a Bachelors in Public Health, a Masters in Acupuncture and Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Academy of Five Element Acupuncture in 2020. A Masters in Acupuncture required an extensive list of prerequisites of Science and Psychology (a Bachelors is really necessary), 3 year Masters program with 1 year dedicated to clinical residency, and 2 year Chinese Herbal Medicine training with 1 year dedicated to clinical residency.

Amanda went on to complete her Acupuncture and Biomedicine Boards with NCCAOM to become a Diplomate of Acupuncture. She is now a board-certified Acupuncturist, licensed in SC.
Our
Story Behind the Passion for Acupuncture
During a particularly hard time in life, a good friend helped convince me to come along to a Reiki share in an attempt to make me feel better. I went in with zero expectations but walked out surprised and curious by the experience. I did feel much better than when I walked in, without a doubt. I decided to give it another try, and eventually I found myself at every Reiki share and began private Reiki classes to become a Reiki practitioner in 2012.

This passion for Reiki combined with my love for science and healthcare led to my journey as an Acupuncturist. I saw changes in my body from receiving Acupuncture; in real and measurable ways. In addition, I saw changes mentally with being able to release the past that I didn't realize was effecting me on a subconscious level. I became passionate that healthcare needs to not be only about the body, but also of the mind & spirit.
